Adele Wong (traditional Chinese:王惠珊, born on 8 March 1983) is an actress, singer, writer, and screenwriter from Singapore.

Biography

Born in Singapore, Adele Wong traces her ancestry to Shanghai, China. Adele graduated from National University of Singapore with an honors degree in sociology. At NUS, Adele was active in dance and theatre.

Upon graduation, Adele began her professional career in acting, hosting and writing. She played the lead role in Damned [1] which was part of an omnibus feature film which premiered at the Osaka Asian Film Festival in 2009. Adele also played a lead role in Garden Girls, a short film, which premiered at the Singapore Film Festival in 2009.

Adele is also active in television in Singapore where she has been seen in several programs. Adele recently starred as the female lead Annie in Jack Neo's first English language drama series for Okto entitled Happily Ever After. She was also seen in the MediaCorp Chinese New Year television movie in 2009, A Kuchinta Family Reunion. Adele is currently filming a Chinese drama series, He Ain't Pesky, He's My Brother, for MediaCorp's Channel 8 where she plays the lead female character opposite Christopher Lee premiering in July 2009.

Adele's feature film debut was as the female lead role in The Days which was screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival, the Singapore International Film Festival and short listed for the New Talent Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. Adele also sang the theme song for the film, 《懂》Knowing,[2] which was written and produced by Jim Lim 林倛玉.

Besides acting, Adele writes both fiction and non-fiction. Adele hosts a column on Sinema's website.[3] Adele was also recently awarded a grant for a short film by the Singapore Film Commission.[4] Hanging Gardens, starring Adele, will go into production in August 2009.
